The main aim of Bachelor Of Education In Early Childhood Education course is to prepare high-quality Early Childhood Education professionals. Graduates from this programme are eligible for teaching in early childhood teacher training institutions and Early Childhood Education programmes; become Early Childhood Education curriculum developers, Early Childhood Education policy planners, programme administrators and inspectors of Early Childhood Education programmes.


What and how will you learn?


In this degree programme every student will take Literacy and Numeracy courses as teaching subjects, early childhood courses as well as teacher educational courses. Learning in this programme will include lectures, independent reading from different sources, seminar presentations, practical assignments and Teaching Practice.


Entry requirements for Bachelor Of Education In Early Childhood Education


Direct entry qualifications


Two principal passes in any of the following subjects: Kiswahili, English, Literature, History, Geography, French, Arabic, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology.


Equivalent entry qualifications


Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Diploma in Primary Teacher Education with an average of “B” or GPA of 3.0 and either four passes at “O” Level for Form Six leavers or Certificate in Teaching (Grade A) for non –form six leavers.

Teaching in ECE, teacher training institutions and ECE programmes; ECE curriculum developers, ECE policy planners, programme administrators and inspectors of ECE programmes.
