BACHELOR OF ARTS IN ORIENTAL LANGUAGES


In this degree programme students are welcome to take a ticket Entry requirements to experience China through learning Chinese with native Chinese speakers. At the same time, it is true that students can deepen appreciation of their own languages and culture. Special emphasis on conversation will enable the learners to acquire sufficient command of the language and thus; they can work as competent editors, proofreaders, creative writers, speech writers, public speakers and translators.


What and how will you learn?


Students shall learn how to write, read and speak chinese language so that they can use it in different domains of use. Learning shall involve lectures, seminars, tutorials, field practicals etc.


Entry requirements for Bachelor Of Arts In Oriental Languages course


Direct entry qualifications


Two principal passes in the following two language subjects: Kiswahili/ English/ French / Arabic/Chinese.


Equivalent entry qualifications


Diploma in Education with an average of ‘B’ or a GPA of 3.0 and four passes at O’ Level.


Careers


Graduates in Chinese language stand a better chance to work in the Government as well as foreign private companies that need Chinese language professionals. Most of our graduates can work as competent editors, proof readers, creative writers, speech writers, public speakers and translators.
