Diploma in Medical Laboratory technology, prepares medical laboratory technicians who are responsible for managing all medical laboratory and diagnostic activities at various levels of health service delivery points i.e. from the level of dispensary to the hospital. This is one of the most important human resource for health not only in Tanzania but also worldwide, who work hand in hand with other health workers in managing patients with various illnesses.

What and how will you learn in diploma in medical lab?

In this three year diploma programme, students shall obtain the best knowledge appropriate

for Health Laboratory technician. The courses will be delivered in form of lectures, seminars, assignments, independent studies, and practical. The contribution of each learning activity is fully described under each course outline.

Entry requirements for Diploma In Medical Lab

Direct entry qualifications

Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least three credit passes in Science subjects:Physics or Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology, OR

Advanced certificate of secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least one principal pass in Science subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, Nutrition, or Mathematics, OR

Two subsidiary passes in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Geography, Nutrition or Mathematics..

Equivalent entry qualifications for Diploma In Medical Laboratory Technology

The candidate who successful completed certificate in health related field (NTA level 5) with a cumulative GPA provided they have grade “B” or above.

Careers Diploma In Medical Lab

Medical laboratory technicians are needed by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Medical Universities, Hospitals both private, faith based and public, Non-Governmental Organizations..
